Tail press is the trick that you keep pressing one edge of your board and still going down a slope straight. The balance is the most important for this trick. If you master a tail press, it will not be difficult to make a nose press, which is the tail version of a nosepress.

Pressing is one of the main trick in ground tricks.
What you basically do is to lean your body axis, riding on only one of the edges, and then lift the other edge up.
It is originally from skateboarding, but since it looks rad, it became popular among snowboarders as well.
Pressing is also referred to as sliding.

How to Tail Press?

[1] Get some speed on the slope. Without speed, you cannnot go down a hill, making a tail press.

[2] Okay, a tail press starts from here. It is the key to bring your body axis on your hind foot. Make sure it is not getting your board sideway.

[3] Just relax so that it becomes easy to transfer the axis. When you get a balance, the board will be sideway by itself. Use your arms to maintain balance.

[4] Do not try to lift the nose. It naturally floats up if your the transition of the axis is successful.

[5] Keep practicing until you can stay balanced for a while after pressing a board. Getting yourself lower and bending your knees helps to look good and maintain the balance.

[6] In order to go down straight, stand your edge against the ground, but too too much, or you can fall off. You should be able to get the feeling of the angle that edge stands well.

[7] Keep going as far as it lets you. Pressing slows you down. So if you think it gets too slow to keep pressing, go back to regular or fakie. Here, making frontside 180 after taiil press would be one of the impressive styles.
