How to choose snowboard bindings

Here, you can find checkpoints of bindings. Again, make sure the bindings are compatible with your boots and board.
[1] Size of Bindings
Get the bindings that are right size for your boots. So it is strongly suggested that you bring your own boots when choosing bindings. If boots are too big, a space between bindings and boots doesn't let them fit well. It also makes it hard to control the board since boots can move within the bindings. If boots are too small, they just cannot put into bindings.
Here is the chart of suggested size for a boot and binding.

[2] Compatibility
Although the size matches, some bindings are not compatible with certain boots. The reason is usually that either heal-cup or high-back does not does not go well with the boots. Check once again that your boots and bindings are the right set.
You also need to pay attention to compatibility of bindings and snowboards. There are some boards (especially Burton's) that have different set of holes for bindings.
[3] Height of High-Back
You only should keep it mind that If high-back is set up too high, it can hurt your calf.
When high-back is relatively higher, it supports you when riding on the board, while lower high-back makes it easy to make tricks or jibs. It totally depends on your style.
[4] Strap
You should check if a toe-strap and ankle-strap holds balls of your feet and your ankle right respectively. Also make sure those straps are durable and easy to put it in and out.
Binding Types:
Strap Type:
Strap bindings are traditional type of bindings. Two straps tighten up the boots.
While it takes longer time to tighten up your boots than step-in bindings, It is easier to lift up the board and you feel safer. Freestyle riders usually prefer this type.
Step-in Type:
You only need a few seconds to get yourself ready with step-in bindings. Some of them have high-backs.
Weak point might be that you can never be too sure that this type of bindings will not come off in the middle of riding since nothing goes around your feet. It also limits your selection on boots and board. If you are a free-rider, you might prefer this type.
